Phuket Trip

Phuket is Thailand’s largest island, a popular destination in East Asia for those who love beaches and sea food. It is about 1hr flight from capital city Bangkok. We spend 4 days and 3 nights there, staying in Deevana Resort, in Patong town. The town is filled with street shops, restaurants, tour operators, massage parlours and hotels. Only flights and hotel booking we did in advance and everything else you can do once you are there.

First day we walked around the streets and also booked a phi phi islands tour for the next day. The one hour speed boat ride to the island was boring however the islands were very scenic. We visited 4 beaches there and reached back hotel by evening.

Next day we took a car for rent and drove till southmost point in Phuket, Promthep Cap. The complete route map can be seen here

I find Phuket more or less same as Kerala. It was hot, humid and cloudy. Two days it rained too. If you are planning to go there, have realistic expectations about the beaches. Don’t go by the green and blue photos you see in internet. Most of them are crowded too. The famous Maya Bay is closed indefinitely.
