We went on a one-week family trip to Shimla. We flew into Chandigarh and drove from there to Shimla. Our initial plan was to go to Manali; however, due to recent landslides and poor road conditions, we changed our destination to Shimla.
It was my first time visiting Shimla. It is a beautiful place, though the town was crowded with people, cars, and shops. The Mall Road and The Ridge are must-visits in the town.
We stayed at Cedarwood Villa, which was about 4 km from Mall Road. The villa was situated down in the valley, and the drive there required significant effort. You couldn’t even call the turns “hairpin” bends; the road was literally like a staircase, with narrow lanes for one car only and 90-degree turns.
We also visited Carignano Nature Park and the President’s Retreat (Summer House) in Mashobra. Both are must-visit spots. Although we went to Kufri, it was raining heavily that day, so we couldn’t enjoy it much.
