Did a solo bike ride to Munnar, clocking 400KMs overall. The road is in very good condition from Adimali except few broken patches. I did not stop at the town and drove directly towards Marayoor side, crossing Kannan Devan hills. It is a scenic route with greenery all over the place.

Evening I drove towards Mattupetty side, the road condition is not so good here. See the pictures below of the same place taken at a gap of 11 years after my last trip to Munnar in 2010.

From there I headed further towards Top station reaching almost Tamil Nadu. In the picture below, you can see wind mills of Theni district behind the tall mountains.

Next day morning I drove towards Devikulam, roads are being widened here. Got the benefit of morning’s smooth sunlight.

Munnar Road conditions
- Adimali – Munnar: Very good, occasional small towns otherwise empty forest
- Munnar – Marayoor: Very good, scenic route with tea plantations both side. Best for morning/evening ride
- Munnar – Mattupetty: Average. Roads covered with lot of trees, so suitable for noon ride. Tea plantations post Kundala
- Munnar – Devikulam: wide roads being constructed for few KMs. Good for a short drive, residential area post that.
Wow awesome.
