First ride in 2022 to Moonnupeedika beach near Irinjalakuda in Thrissur district. Previous night I was looking for a place around 1-2Hrs drive from Kakkanad and landed up on this place in Google maps. Distance from home – check, road condition – check, not crowded place – check, Beach – check. I started around 6.30 in the morning and took the NH-544 (old number NH-47) till Chalakudy. I prefer to avoid the congested NH-66.

Took first break after crossing the famous Irinjalakuda town where I saw this beautiful paddy field. The town become famous for being the hometown of comedy actor & MP Innocent.

Drove further and reached Moonnupeedika beach around 8am. The place didn’t fail to meet my expectations. There was a small backwater lake and villagers around that doing fishing. I walked around and found a narrow gap to cross the lake and headed towards the beach. It was interesting to see how fishermen there were taking out their boat to the Arabian sea.

From there I drove parallel to the beach and found more interesting beaches. While returning I also went to see Christ collage, Irinjalakuda which is famous for being the shooting location for many Malaylam films – who can forget Aby and Sona’s campus in Niram
